An Operations Leader turned Digital Transformation and Remote Operations Global Expert Consultant and Advisor, Tony has 12 years’ experience in BP in Production Chemistry, Production Engineering, Operations and Maintenance and Major Projects, including 5 years offshore. Tony is the Winner of BP’s Technical Achievement Award, and has 4 Years’ experience as Operations and Projects lead in the BP’s ‘Field of the Future Programme’. Tony also spent 3 years as BG Group Global Digital Transformation Leader, Leading DT in Assets in Tunisa, The North Sea, Kazakhstan and Egypt. Lessons Learned from the application of remote operations centers in Mining Operations in Australia and the Americas
Remote Operations centres (ROC) are now a key component of mining digital transformation strategies world-wide. They are where the latest digital technologies come together, get used, and are where key operational decisions are made based on date and information in real time. ROC’s are now common in Mining operations in Australia and Sout America. This paper will highlight our experience in delivering ROCs in these areas and focus on the key lessons learned from the centres that are in operation.
